- Protect. Defend.
Dear Mrs. Figgins:
I am married to an agent with the DEA. We’ve worked so hard to keep my wife’s profession private, and ensure not only her safety but the safety of our kids.
At my son’s school, there is a certain couple who know about my wife’s line of work. It’s understandable this could happen, except they make inappropriate comments at soccer games, PTA meetings, etc. Many times they loudly joke ” here comes Officer _ _ _ _ _ ” or “hide the pot!” etc. etc. etc.
I’ve made subtle comments imploring them to “cool it”, and yet nothing seems to work.
If you would Mrs. Figgins, please alert folks to the fact that when someone they know is in a sensitive profession, indiscreet comments can mean the difference between life and death.
Thank You for your attention to this request.

Dear Undercover:
Your appeal is not only clear, but critical.
It is important for all of us to realize that indiscretion can put lives at risk and that there are legal consequences for endangering the life of a member of law enforcement.
On behalf of thousands of Americans, our appreciation to your wife and family, for your service and dedication.
Mrs. Figgins
