About the author…

This column is penned under the nom de plume of Mrs. Figgins–alter ego of a renowned author,  expert on protocol and arbiter of social conduct known as “etiquette”, the guidelines regarding mannerisms long considered the last word among polite society.
Mrs. Figgins juggles her time between homes in Zürich, Sydney, and Edinburgh and has entertained royalty and world leaders over several decades.
Travel, friendships and humanitarian work around the world have given her a unique opportunity to observe the lives and habits of the rich and powerful, the  empty and hopeless…with a front row view into the dance of human relationships.
Mrs. Figgins has three beloved children – two are married, one is gay.    All have been in long term relationships and live happily in Switzerland.
